Room 2, Term 2, 2011

Dear Parents and Caregivers,

Welcome back to all the children after a much needed break! Term 2 is another 11 week term, luckily with one long weekend to break it.  Mrs Henderson and I have altered timetables slightly this term as I have three pupils to teach before playtime now, so won’t be in the classroom till 11:00am.

We have a few different upcoming events and topics planned for this term already with the much anticipated cross-country on 25 May; 7 year olds run the longer farm route and younger children the shorter route.  We are currently exploring autumn leaves with art and photography, and then on the 19th May, we have a visit planned to the Otorohanga Kiwi House, leaving school at 11:00am. Later on we will start a science unit exploring some of the properties of “Eggs”.
Class routines remain the same as last term:
Maths homework, library books, spelling notebooks and poem folders back to school on Friday.
Some children are carrying their library books in their book bags all week which makes them very heavy, it would be better for them if they keep the books at home till Friday.

We hope to see you at school some time this term, come and have a look at our collage spiders on the wall, they look great and took a long time and some very achy little hands to complete!

Thankyou all for your tremendous support,
Debbie van Dorsten
