Room 2 News for Term 3

Dear Parents and Caregivers,
Well done everyone on surviving our very long term 2, the children all look happy and well and ready to tackle Term 3!

We have a variety of different units and activities planned to keep us busy this term. Our main topics will be:
Health- Being Friends                   Maths - Subtraction
Science – Light and Colour            Art – calendar art
Literacy – The Gruffalo
P.E. – Jump Jam (with a bit of Zumba)
Plus a few extra bits and pieces like some focus on the World Cup Rugby and sporting heroes, photography and any other interesting bits and pieces that look like fun!

Please keep your child’s reading log up to date and keep chugging along at the maths homework. It was apparent in last terms basic facts test that some children have still not learnt the 1st column of facts (facts within 10) and this will definitely hold them back in future learning. We will be having the test again next week.

Our field trip this term will be to see the play “The Gruffalo” in week 5 and Agriculture Day will be in week 10.

Don’t forget maths homework, poem books and library books back on Fridays.

Stay well and we hope to see you at school some time this term.

Thankyou,
Debbie van Dorsten     deb@paterangi.school.nz
