Room 2 Term 4 News
Welcome back everyone to our last term of 2011.
We have an assortment of different events and activities to move the weeks along quickly this term. The 8 year olds will be attending athletics at Te Pahu and the whole class will be taking part in the Junior School Athletics on Tuesday 29 November. We also have Grandparents Day, School Picnic School Photos, and the Life Education Trust Caravan will be with us to give the children an exciting lesson in nutritional health.
In week 4 we will be making salt dough islands to conclude our “Mapping Skills” unit. If your child has a shoe box with a lid, please send it to school so that we can use the lid for our islands, then later on in the term, the box for a Christmas Diorama.
We will be going to the Event Centre for a swim on the second to last day of term, Tuesday 13 December, at 10am for a swim. I have booked the hydroslide for our exclusive use from 12:15 - 1:15pm. A picnic and play on the playground will follow. We will be requiring transport and would also love to have your company on the day.
Children are still expected to continue with their homework routines please; I would love to see everyone’s maths homework books so that I can make a decision about which level they need to continue with next year. Search under those beds and in cupboards for any readers please, we continue to have gaps in our boxes from unreturned books.
This term is flying by already, isn't it?
Regards
Debbie van Dorsten
