Term 1 Newsletter, 2014
Wednesday 5th February
Dear Parents and Caregivers,
Welcome back to school everyone and a special hello to Tayla, Taylah and Riki, all year 2 children! I’m sure that we will have a really wonderful learning time together this year. We currently have 22 children in the class and we are expecting one more pupil shortly to bring us to 23.
Our major curriculum focuses this term will include: Number (Maths), Spiders (a Literature and Science unit), Rock Pool Study (Science), Life Education Caravan (Health), Swimming (PE)-followed by swimming sports at the Event Centre on the evening of Thursday 27 February. We will also be doing a variety of other topics and units throughout the term.
Our first class trip will be to Ngarunui Beach, Raglan, in week 5 with Room 1.
Please keep this event in mind as we are dependent on your generosity as drivers to make these excursions possible.
Our homework and class routines this term will include:
School readers home on Monday to Thursday (no book bag, no book).
Poem folders to go home Friday and come back Monday.
Maths homework to go home Monday and be handed in Friday, we will be doing basic facts only for the next 4 weeks, see the attached sheet.
Library book exchange on Friday afternoon before assembly.
Swimming togs (in a waterproof bag) are needed every day this term.
It will all make sense soon, I promise!
Your child is welcome to bring a named water bottle to keep in the classroom. These should be taken home every day to clean and refill.
Please feel free to contact me if you are unsure of anything.

See you all soon!
